Personal Biography
My professional interests include British and world literature, adult education, critical thinking and analysis, rhetoric, and writing (composition, professional, creative). I've worked with authors in self-publishing, ghostwritten a few books, and ground through manuscripts as an editor. Look over those projects on the Professional Writing tab. My dreams include raising Bresse or Buff Orpington chickens and having a laundry room with a counter. My husband and I chase our five children through zoos, church meetings, and parades. Our family is my top priority. |

I enjoy reading and recording for the Librivox public domain audio forum. Librivox is the audio equivalent of the Gutenberg Project. Librivox volunteers read aloud and record classics and other literature, and post these files in the public domain. The audio files are available free via the Librivox website.
My personal selections include contributions to The Heroines of History, by John S. Jenkins; The Green Fairy Book, by Andrew Lang; and Viking Tales, by Jennie Hall. Browse my reader selection on librivox.org. |
I lived for a year and a half in Argentina and Uruguay as a Christian missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My colleagues and I spent every day sharing short messages about faith in Christ, hope, and cohesiveness in the family unit with friends, acquaintances, and complete strangers. I consider my mission as a defining experience in my life, on emotional as well as religious levels.
Adjusting to the cultural differences and mannerisms--clapping at doors instead of knocking, for example--proved a challenge at first, but I came to love them as my own. I speak fluent Spanish and enjoy reading El Libro de Mormon and El Senor de Los Anillos to keep up on my language skills. |
When my brother and I attended a murder mystery dinner together, I was hooked. So, I started writing murder mystery dinner scenarios for friends and family. I wrote and designed the packets for 6, 8, and 10 player, family-friendly mysteries. The projects escalated, as they always do. Several of my scenarios have been featured on Brigham Young University-Idaho campus and community venues.
